Software Technology Consortium integrating Advanced Simulations
PLEXSYS Interface Products Inc., ZedaSoft Inc, SimCentric Technologies Pty Ltd and Immersaview Pty Ltd (a PLEXSYS company) have formed a technology consortium enabling enhanced integration and interoperability on a software standards basis. Members of the consortium are known for their world-class simulation technologies – this evolution ensures a fully modular offering where government and industry can tailor their solution with low technical risk.
“Military and industry programs constantly balance incorporating innovative best-in-class technologies with inherent integration and technical risks,” commented Dr Adam Easton, CEO SimCentric Technologies on behalf of the consortium. “This consortium provides significant risk reduction moving into the era of simulation as a service. By offering complementary technologies that are of exceptional quality, completely transferable across synthetic environments and visual engines, and fully integrated as a mature system, we can minimise risk and maximise capability.”
The technologies comprising the consortium launch are as follows:
ImmersaView VADAAR LVC:Video Audio Data After Action Review (VADAAR) LVC is the next generation of Mission Recording, Monitoring, and Debriefing technology. VADAAR LVC provides a local and distributed, multi-participant After Action Review (AAR) capability, all accomplished within a light and upgradeable software framework. VADAAR LVC was the primary data collation and AAR support software utilized during Operation Blended Warrior (OBW) at I/ITSEC 2017, successfully integrating over 40 separate booths and multiple proprietary systems.
PLEXSYS Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT):
An environment generation tool for creating the high fidelity immersive background for today’s 21st-century synthetic battlespace. The system provides a robust war-gaming and mission rehearsal capability for real-time Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training. ASCOT is an interactive simulation tool that easily manages the entire battlespace from single-ship Close Air Support (CAS) missions to multi-axis, multi-ship Theater/Special Operations. Multiple systems can be networked together at a single site, or at multiple sites around the world for dynamic large-scale joint and coalition exercises. An advanced constructive simulation (also integrating live and virtual platforms), ASCOT simulates the cross-tell of a complex air, land and sea picture via Link 16 and Link 11 using DIS or HLA, and replicated across various 3D visual environments. It is currently utilised throughout US Air Force Distributed Mission Operations, UK Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training Centre, NATO AWACS, as well as several other militaries globally.
PLEXSYS sonomarc:
Enabling the connection of LVC communication systems simultaneously, sonomarc fully replicates a complex LVC communications infrastructure via DIS and HLA standards. Compatible with multi-level security networks, integrated with existing push-to-talk systems, and with text-to-speech and speech-to-text conversion history, sonomarc achieves a true standards-based simulation replicating any operational communications configuration
ZedaSoft MiLToC (Man-in-the-Loop Transfer of Control):
Leveraging Transfer of Ownership PDUs on based on the DIS standard, ZedaSoft “Performance on Demand” MiLToC enables the user to instantly, seamlessly, and with full scalability, transfer simulation entities at system or subsystem levels from constructive simulations to virtual trainers (full fidelity, part-task trainers, desktop, etc.) and back again. Enabling unprecedented flexibility in simulation scenario execution, and delivering systemic workforce efficiencies (both friendly and adversary players), SME expertise is maximized in every training session, and the initial training environment is no longer the quality limiting factor.
SimCentric SAF-GEN:
A synthetic environment “multi-tool” enabling the creation of high-fidelity standards based (DIS, HLA, CIGI) applications using either a C++ or LUA API. Comprising of both a module development toolkit and parallel system runtime, SAF-GEN contains comprehensive physics, ballistics, AI and behavioural processing capabilities to build, run and integrate advanced high-fidelity simulation modules as required. SAF-GEN enables efficient central stimulation of multiple engines concurrently whilst reducing over-dependence on single proprietary host systems.
SimCentric SAF-Fires:
Already integrated across multiple visual environments, SAF-Fires is a full spectrum Call for Fire, Close Air Support and Remote Piloted Aircraft (CFF, CAS and RPA) procedural training software utilising the SAF-GEN runtime. SimCentric’s accredited CFF, CAS and RPA software is already used extensively across NATO including in the Fires Centre of Excellence at Fort Sill (OK), US Marine Corps DVTE and ISMT programs, US Army GFT program, US Air Force Academy, New Zealand School of Artillery and numerous European nations.
SimCentric SAF-Ambience:
Providing an advanced standards based Pattern of Life (POL), SAF-Ambience turns synthetic environment “ghost towns” into living breathing cities. With advanced AI prescribed behaviours, layered population dynamics, variable demographic groupings and an intuitive user interface enabling instructors to replicate specific and reactive population effects, SAF-Ambience delivers the genuine urban clutter (human and vehicular) missing from current synthetic environment training. Also utilizing the SAF-GEN runtime, SAF-Ambience can stimulate multiple visual engines concurrently providing tangible advantages over singular proprietary systems.
